Margaret E. Rouse

Margaret Evelyn Rouse, 76, of Dennison, passed away at Aultman Hospital in Canton on Saturday, April 12, 2014 after short illness. Born September 26, 1937 in Dennison, she was a daughter of the late Stephen R. and Evelyn M. (Ferrell) Balogh.

A lifelong resident of Dennison, she was a graduate of Dennison High School in the class of 1955. On May 16, 1959, she married Wayne E. Rouse with whom she enjoyed over 50 years of marriage until his passing on September 18, 2010. They are survived by two sons, Wayne (Barbara) Rouse, Jr. of Dennison and Stephen R. (Janie) Rouse of Uhrichsville; 4 grandchildren, Stephanie and Brittany Swinderman and Matt and Jennifer Hilliard; and 3 great-grandchildren, Addison, Samuel and Desarae. Margaret is also survived by a brother, Herbert D. Snow of Uhrichsville; a half-sister, Paula Miller of Canton; dear family friends, Jody and Dave Dunlap of Uhrichsville, George and Mary Piatt of Bunker, Missouri, and Mr. and Mrs. James Miller of Wycliffe, Ohio; and many extended family members including nieces, nephews and cousins.

Margaret was a devoted and loving wife and mother who had also been a reporter for the Evening Chronicle in the 70s. In her spare time, she enjoyed doing ceramics and crafts, working jigsaw and crossword puzzles, and spending time with her dear canine companion, Scruffy.

In keeping with her wishes, Margaret has been cremated without a public visitation. A memorial service and celebration of her life, officiated by Pastor Tom Klaserner, will be held at her home at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, May 3. Memorial contributions may be made to the charity of one’s choice.
