Margaret Arlene Singerman, 93, of New Philadelphia, affectionately known as “Margie,” passed away on April 18, 2026, at Park Village Southside.

Born on April 8, 1933, in Dennison, Ohio, Margaret was the daughter of the late Frank “Gay” and Pauline Grace (Enos) Benedetto. She spent much of her life in the Uhrichsville area, where she built a home centered on family, friendship, and community.

Margie was a dedicated homemaker who also worked for 15 years at Hart’s Family Center and can also be remembered from Peoples Drug and Rite Aid. She was a proud graduate of Dennison High School, Class of 1951.

A longtime member of the Order of the Eastern Star, Arbutus Chapter 288, Margie devoted over 72 years of service, joining in 1954. In her spare time, she was an avid bingo player, enjoyed trying her luck at the casino, and creating beautiful quilts.

Margie was preceded in death by her husband, James Edward “Red” Singerman, whom she married on October 28, 1955, and who passed away on May 20, 2001.

She is survived by her loving children: daughters Becky (Robert) Carpenter and Sherry (Mark) Donohoe; and son, Scott (Trudy) Singerman. She also leaves behind her grandson, Robbie Carpenter and sister, Sue Lynn (Michael) Fisher.

Margie is also preceded in death by her sister, Martha Douglass, brother, Keith “Gene” Brownfield and her companion, Hal Clantz.

The family would like to express their sincere gratitude to Park Village and Traditions Hospice for the exceptional care that was given to Margie.

A graveside service will be held at 11 am on Wednesday, April 29 at Evergreen Cemetery in New Philadelphia where Margie will be laid to rest with her beloved husband. Memorial contributions may be made in Margie’s honor to the American Heart Association.
