Margaret V. Hrabley, 86, of Dennison, passed away on Saturday, December 19, 2015, at Community Hospice in New Philadelphia. Born August 16, 1929 in Dennison, she was a daughter of the late Andrew B. and Anna B. (Tobias) Hrabley.
Margaret was a lifelong member of Immaculate Conception Church in Dennison where she attended daily Mass until she became ill. A 1947 graduate of Immaculate Conception High School, she received a Bausch & Lomb Science Award in her senior year. After her graduation, she earned a degree in medical technology from Nazareth College in Bardstown, Kentucky which enabled her to work at Toledo Mercy Hospital, Mt. Carmel Hospital in Columbus and Mercy Medical Center in Canton. Margaret also worked for a physician in Uhrichsville for many years and spent some years taking care of her mother. She was a member of the Association of Medical Technologists.
Her favorite pastimes were crossword puzzles, tv game shows, trips to the Holy Ground Coffee Shop and Tappan Lake Marina, and attending concerts at Tuscora Park. She enjoyed taking the Polar Express at Christmas, as well as decorating the family Christmas tree and Nativity scene. Her friends and family also remember her for the fudge that she used to make.
Margaret is survived by three sisters, Helen Hrabley of Columbus, Georgia, Josephine Hrabley of Dennison, and Irene Sova of Columbus, Ohio; nieces, Irene Brundage, Cathy Sova, Theresa Hrabley, Cathy Kersell, Maureen Dunlap, Kathleen Morgan, Donna McKinney, Gloria Walker, Pat Friend, Gwen Johnson, Mary Ann Hrabley, Mim Chappel; nephews, Jimmy Hrabley, Stephen Sova, Johnny Hrabley, Francis, Ron and Bill Kinehan, and Bob Bussinger; and many great-nieces and great-nephews. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her siblings, Mary Bussinger, Ann Kinehan, Barbara Hrabley, and Frank and Andrew Hrabley.
Father Tyron Tomson will celebrate the funeral Mass on Tuesday, December 22, 2015 at 10am in Immaculate Conception Church in Dennison. Interment will follow in St. Mary’s Cemetery at Dennison. Visitation will be 4-7pm, with a Christian Wake Service at 6:45pm, on Monday in the R.K. Lindsey Funeral Home in Dennison. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Immaculate Conception Church, Immaculate Conception Elementary and Community Hospice.
