Margaret Belle Doughty

Margaret Belle Doughty, 74, of Uhrichsville, Ohio passed away at her home while surrounded by her loving family on Thursday, March 25, 2021, after a brief illness. Born July 31, 1946 in Martins Ferry, Ohio, she was a daughter of the late William Burris and Eleanor (McDonald) Burris Shreckengost.

A Twin City resident for much of her life, Margaret was a loving mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She enjoyed playing cards and Bingo with her many friends at local clubs, including the Army-Navy, Dennison Eagles, and Uhrichsville Moose.

Margaret will be sadly missed by her surviving family which includes her children, Tammy (Jeff) Hendrix, Terry (Tammy) Doughty, Kenny (Shannon) Czarnecki, Julie Doughty-Goodwin, and Dale Doughty; many cherished grandchildren and great-grandchildren; brothers, William (Cathy) Burris and Gary Burris; numerous nieces and nephews; and her best friend, Marcia Winters. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a son, John Doughty; sister, Judith Twardoski; and brother, Daryl Burris. She will be interred on a future date in Yorkville Cemetery beside her late son.

Rev. Mark Unrue will officiate a 3:00 p.m. funeral on Sunday, March 28, in the R. K. Lindsey Funeral Home in Dennison. Visitation will be 1:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. on Sunday at the funeral. In the interest of public health, all who attend are required to wear masks and maintain social distancing. Memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
