Margaret Mary Coventry, 84, of Dennison, Ohio, passed away on Tuesday, September 20, 2011 at Trinity Twin City Hospital in Dennison after a brief illness. Born February 20, 1927 in Clinton, Ohio, she was a daughter of the late Hugo John and Julia (Byron) Paridon.

A resident of Dennison for most of her life, Margaret was a longtime member of Immaculate Conception Church and a graduate of St. Mary’s High School in the Class of 1945. For many years, she volunteered at the Immaculate Conception Church family store, and had also worked as a volunteer for the Clayweek Festival, along with her husband. In her younger years, she was employed by the Uhrichsville Ice Plant, but after marriage devoted herself to her family as a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and homemaker. She loved caring for her family, and spending time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren was a special joy.

On April 19, 1948, Margaret married Donald Eugene Coventry with whom she enjoyed 41 years of marriage until his passing on September 11, 1989. They were blessed with eight children, Donna Carrothers and Cheryl (Joe) Decaminada of Dennison, Carol (Randy) Churilla and Ronna (Terry Huff) Coventry of New Philadelphia, Bonnie Coventry of Mt. Vernon, Ron (Susan) Coventry of Dennison, Jon Coventry of Bolivar, and Tom (Shelly) Coventry of Gnadenhutten; fourteen grandchildren, Robert, Joey, Mark, Keith, Jennifer, Aaron, Lindsaye, Reece, Christina, Edwin, Hannah, Brianna, Katie, and Kierstin; and nine great grandchildren. Margaret is also survived by her brothers, Paul (Ellen) Paridon of Warren and Richard (Alice) Paridon of The Villages, Fla.; numerous nieces and nephews, including a dear niece, Paula Hairfield; and other extended family members. In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by her stepmother, Madeline Paridon; her parents-in-law, Orville and Edith Coventry; brothers, Raymond and James Paridon; sons-in-law, Mike Carrothers and Jerry Friesner; and a special aunt, Winnie Bowen.

Services for Margaret, officiated by Father Anthony Lonzo, will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Friday, September 23, in Immaculate Conception Church at Dennison. Interment will follow beside her beloved husband in St. Mary’s Cemetery near Dennison. Family and friends are invited to call at the R.K. Lindsey Funeral Home from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Thursday, during which time a Christian Wake Service will be held at 7:45 p.m. Those wishing to honor Margaret’s memory by a charitable contribution are encouraged to do so to Immaculate Conception Elementary.
