Margaret Ann Pickenstein

Margaret Ann Pickenstein, 85, of Uhrichsville, Ohio died Sunday, December 25, 2011 at Miami Valley Hospital in Dayton, Ohio. Born November 7, 1926, she was a daughter of the late Alan Brent and Anna Margaret (Hunt) Hunt.

Margaret was a graduate of Uhrichsville High School in the class of 1944 and was a resident of the Twin City area throughout her life. On July 19, 1947, she married Joseph Dominic Pickenstein with whom she enjoyed over forty-three years of marriage until his passing on August 21, 1990. Margaret was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and homemaker who loved caring for her family and a longtime member of Uhrichsville First Christian Church.

She is survived by three children, Leslie McNeely and her husband, Richard, of Beavercreek, Ohio, Mark D. Pickenstein and his wife, Mary Ann, of Springboro, Ohio, and Jo Ann Hayes and her husband, John, of Dallas, Texas; eight grandchildren, Mark, Daniel, Peter, Andrew and David McNeely and Holly, Elizabeth and John Hayes; four great grandchildren; a sister-in-law, Fern Hunt of Columbus, Ohio; and many nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by a brother, David Hunt; and three sisters, Dortha Hilditch, Alice Ronald and Elnora Hoon.

A graveside service, officiated by Rev. Debbie Saxe, will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday, December 28, in Uhrichsville’s Union Cemetery where Margaret will be interred beside her beloved husband. Those wishing to honor her memory by a charitable contribution are encouraged to do so to Uhrichsville First Christian Church.
