Lynne G. Wilson

March 4, 1938 — June 25, 2025

Lynne G. Wilson, 87, of New Philadelphia, Ohio, passed away peacefully at her home on Wednesday, June 25, 2025. Born March 4, 1938 in Flushing, Long Island, New York, she was the last surviving child of the late Theodore G. “Ted” and Dorothy “Dot” (Aubinger) Gerber, having been preceded in death by her brother, William Gerber.

In her late teens, Lynne moved with her parents and brother from New York to the Twin City area where they owned and operated Ted’s Diner in Dennison. She was a cheerleader for the 1956 class of Dennison. Lynne worked at her family’s restaurant for a number of years, in addition to being a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and homemaker. She truly loved caring for her family and home, especially when she could spend time in her gardens which were a delight to her. She was a longtime member of New Philadelphia First Baptist Church.

On October 26, 1957, Lynne married Richard Steven Wilson, with whom she shared nearly forty years of loving marriage until his passing on March 22, 1997. She is survived by daughters, Marcy (John) Cipolletti and Sharon L. (Russ) Beamish; three sons, Robert S. (Karen) Wilson, Rick A. (Joy) Wilson, and Gregory L. Wilson; seven grandchildren, Michelle Pittman, and Bryan, Joey, Raleigh, Walker, Noah, Ricky, and Connor Wilson; many great-grandchildren; and a number of nieces and nephews.

In keeping with Lynne’s wishes, cremation is planned with a private family service, and she will be laid to rest beside her beloved husband in Ridgecrest Memory Gardens in Dover. Her family will celebrate her life privately. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the charity on one’s choice.
