Lula Marie Ferguson

Lula Marie Ferguson, 89, of Dennison, passed away while surrounded by her loving family on Sunday, June 1, 2014 at Community Hospice House in New Philadelphia after a short illness. Born December 14, 1924 at Tappan, she was a daughter of the late Edgar and Bertha (Patterson) Turney.

On January 15, 1947, Lula married Paul Allen Ferguson with whom she enjoyed over 57 years of marriage until his passing on June 27, 2004. They are survived by a son, Robert Ferguson of Dennison; a daughter, Debra (John) Dickey of Dennison; grandchildren, Fred Garbrandt, Buffy (Larry) Standiford, Steve (Diana) Garbrandt and Debbysue (Charles) Baker; great-grandchildren, Dominic Reynolds, Caity Standiford, Audrey, Cory, Mackense, Emily and Abigail Garbrandt, and Danielle and Charles Baker; and a step-great-grandson, Jaymz Bassa. She is also survived by a brother, Dean Robert (Nellie) Turney, and many nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by 8 siblings, Harry, Harold, Mary, Gail, Ralph, Earl, Leroy and Mildred. Lula was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and homemaker who was truly devoted to her family, and a longtime member of the New Philadelphia Church of Christ. She will be deeply missed by all who knew her.

Private family services are planned. Interment will be with her beloved husband in Liberty Cemetery near Uhrichsville. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to her family in care of the R.K. Lindsey Funeral Home, 26 Grant St., Dennison, OH 44621 to help defray the cost of her final expenses.
