Luke Justin Foster, 28, of Dover, died Thursday, Feb. 2, 2012 at Aultman Hospital in Canton after a hard-fought battle with leukemia. Born Nov. 1, 1983 in Wheeling, he was a son of Mark M. Foster and Barbara B. (Smith) Foster.
He is survived by his father and stepmother, Mark and Joni Foster of Holloway; mother, Barbara (Todd Sowards) Foster of Sherrodsville; sisters, Mandy (Jeff) Myer of Flushing and Jena (fiancé, Jeff Myer, Jr.) Riley of Bowerston; stepbrother, Jacob (fiancée, Patty Gregory) Moore of Byesville; nieces and nephews, Josh, Bradley, Jackson, Kimberly, Lily, Kyle and Justin with another expected; paternal grandfather, Charles Foster of Flushing; and many extended family members, including aunts, uncles and cousins.
A resident of Tuscarawas County for much of his life, Luke had lived in Dover for the past several years. He was an iron worker who loved to play video games in his spare time. Luke was a Christian with a deep belief which comforted him through his terminal illness. His family will always remember Luke’s smile and his bravery. They wish to thank everyone for being there for them and for Luke in so many ways.
Services for Luke, officiated by Pastor Roger Deardorff, will be held at 3pm on Sunday, Feb. 5, in the R.K. Lindsey Funeral Home in Dennison. Family and friends are invited to call at the funeral home from 1pm to 3pm on Sunday, prior to the funeral. A graveside service will be held at 2pm on Monday in Feed Spring Cemetery near Uhrichsville. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to his family, in care of the R.K. Lindsey Funeral Home, to help defray the cost of his final expenses.
