Lucy Ellen Loving, 74, of Uhrichsville, Ohio, formerly a longtime Ashtabula, Ohio resident, was called to her heavenly home on Tuesday, December 5, 2023, from the Community Hospice Truman House in New Philadelphia, Ohio. Born August 8, 1949 in Chardon, Ohio, she was a daughter of the late Nicholas Ethelbert and Susan Sarah (Riddle) Loving.
A devoted mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, Lucy will be deeply missed by her surviving family which includes three daughters, Tracy (Pastor John) Stevenson, Susan (Rodney) Hines, and Kelly (companion, Aubert) Polson; five grandchildren, Jon, Bo, Cody, James, and Sarah; and fourteen great-grandchildren, including Kaison and Jaxlee, with whom she was especially close. Lucy also leaves behind four brothers, Jim (Joyce) Loving, Marvin (Diane) Loving, John Loving, and Nicholas Loving; three sisters, Annabelle Marsh, Mary Ayala, and Jacqueline Loving; numerous nieces and nephews; and her loving church family and many dear friends. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a brother, Ron Loving, and two sisters, Pauline and Christine Loving.
A natural born caregiver, Lucy spent many years working as a home health aide, in addition to lovingly caring for her own family. She especially cherished the time that she spent with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. During the years she spent living in Uhrichsville, she was a member of her son-in-law’s congregation, Bethel Worship Center, where she loved to sing in worship and was a faithful woman of prayer, lifting up her brothers and sisters in Christ (who included everyone she encountered, as she never met a stranger). It was not uncommon for her to give to others, while she went without. Anyone who had the pleasure of visiting her in her home will also remember her love of butterflies as they filled her home in every nuance of her décor.
Rev. Rex Jordon will officiate a 1:00 p.m. funeral on Friday, December 8, at the R. K. Lindsey Funeral Home in Dennison, Ohio, where her family will receive callers from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. on Friday, prior to the service. She will be interred on a future date in Windsor Township Cemetery near Ashtabula. Those wishing to honor her memory by a charitable contribution are encouraged to do so to Bethel Worship Center, 534 N. Main St., Uhrichsville, OH 44683.
