Louis Thomas “L.T.” Novak, 78, of Tippecanoe, formerly of Spencer, North Carolina, passed away on Monday, August 24, 2020, at the Community Hospice Truman House in New Philadelphia, following an illness of several months. Born April 25, 1942 in Sherrodsville, he was the son of the late Louis Thomas and Anna (Dale) Novak.
L.T. grew up in Sherrodsville and was a 1960 graduate of Conotton Valley High School. He was a skilled carpenter, working from Carpenters’ Union Local #69 in Canton, who had built Camelot Music Stores around the country for over 30 years until the late 90’s. He was an avid golfer in his spare time. He was also a member of the Fraternal Order of Eagles and enjoyed their brotherhood in the many cities where he worked over the years. In retirement, he fulfilled his lifelong dream of moving to North Carolina where he enjoyed his warm winters until the last few months, returning home to Ohio to live with his son’s family through his final illness.
He will be deeply missed by his children, Terri Novak, Stephanie Renicker, and Stanley (Tonya) Novak; grandchildren, Nate Novak, Braylen Novak, Hayden Renicker, and Elise Renicker; and many friends. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister, Bev Cottis.
According to L.T.’s wishes, cremation is planned without a public visitation. His family will celebrate his life privately. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Community Hospice, 716 Commercial Ave. S.W., New Philadelphia, OH 44663.
