Lois Pauline Thompson

Lois Pauline Thompson, 88, of Uhrichsville, Ohio, passed away at Beacon Pointe Rehabilitation Center on August 15, 2011 after a lengthy illness. Born May 27, 1923 in New Philadelphia, she was a daughter of the late Elmer Perry and Bessie Gertrude (Reidenbaugh) Metzger.

A 1941 graduate of Gnadenhutten High School, Pauline was a longtime member of Uhrichsville’s Christian Temple. She devoted her life to her family as a loving wife, mother, grandmother and homemaker. She also had enjoyed playing cards with the “Golden Girls” and, in her spare time, she loved to cook and care for others. Pauline was an avid Indians and Cavaliers fan.

On March 2, 1946, Pauline married Raymond Theodore Thompson with whom she spent more than 40 years of marriage until his passing on December 11, 1986. She is survived by two daughters, Judy (Perry) Nign of Uhrichsville and Sue (Terry) O’Brien of Dublin; five grandchildren, Buffy (Harold) Booth, Greg (Jennifer) Nign, Debbie (Drew) Basinger, Terry “Toby” (Colleen) O’Brien, and Michelle (Cody) Crnkovich; nine great grandchildren, Ashten and Bristen Nign, Cody Booth, Jayden, Robby and Nicole Basinger, and Kaitlyn, Sammy and Eryn O’Brien; numerous nieces and nephews; and a host of dear friends and neighbors. In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by her sister, Edna Keffer.

Family and friends are invited to call at the R.K. Lindsey Funeral Home in Dennison from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. and from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Thursday, August 18. Services, officiated by Pastors Larry and Janie Hostetler, will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Friday, August 19, in the funeral home. Interment will be in New Philadelphia’s Evergreen Burial Park beside her beloved husband. Immediately following the cemetery services, a reception will be held in the fellowship hall of the 1st Church of the Nazarene, 233 Fair Ave. N.E., New Philadelphia.
