Lois Irene Wyatt-Muster, one month premature she was born July 15, 1934, at Riverside in Warwick Township to Bertice Long-Wyatt and William Clyde Wyatt. At age 7, she contracted nephritis and carried a 106-degree temperature for 4 days, after which her parents were told she would have severe brain damage. But she proved them wrong, graduating from Tuscarawas Warwick with a 3.9 grade average.
As a child, she excelled in roller skating and tennis but most of all singing. Her music teacher – realizing she was a prodigy – recommended voice lessons, which brough her to the attention of New York City Opera Company. In 1948, she recorded her first record which was Mozart’s Queen of the Night on one side and Bach’s St. Matthew Passion Aria Erbarme dich, mein Gott on the other. In 1949, she recorded her 2nd record, Handel’s Rinaldo – Lascia ch’io pianga Almirena Act II and on the back side was Rossini’s L’Assedio di Corinto.
On July 27, 1952, she married Eugene F. Muster whom she had met at Tuscarawas County music festival. They had 3 children, Carol, Allen, and Susanne. After her voice broke, she decided to go to college where she graduated magna cum laude and was Valedictorian of her class with a degree in accounting. In 1964, she was elected secretary of the Tuscarawas Warwick P.T.A. and within 2 years she was elected Tuscarawas County President of the P.T.A., a position which she held for 4 years. Later, she volunteered with 4-H, Boy Scouts, Cub Scouts, Girl Scouts, and Brownies, plus was choir director of the Junior Choir at the First Christian Church in Uhrichsville, all of the while holding down a position as Assistant Editor of the Ohio Buckeye Magazine.
As a member of the First Christian Church in Uhrichsville, she held several positions, including treasurer, Sunday school teacher, Vacation Bible School Director, Elder and Deacon. In 1978, she became the accountant for the Dover Music Store in Miracle Lane Plaza and went on to own and operate a craft store in Dover. After retiring, she used her community spirit to help feed the Twin City area at the Food Pantry in Uhrichsville for over 35 years. For her dedication to the community, she received accolades from Governor Rhodes, Governor Strickland, and several Senators and Congressmen. She furthermore played organ for the Church of God in Dennison and Good Shepherd Church.
