Lois Eileen Beaber, 84, a former lifelong resident of Uhrichsville, O., passed away peacefully on Tuesday, November 23, 2010 in Medford, Oregon where she had resided with her son for the past four years. Born December 1, 1925 in Uhrichsville, she was the daughter of the late Francis L. and M. Ruth (Anderson) Kilpatrick.
She was a graduate of Uhrichsville High School in the class of 1943 and was a lifelong member of Uhrichsville 1st Presbyterian Church where she had been active in the Presbyterian Women. Lois was a devoted and loving wife, mother, grandmother and homemaker who enjoyed playing cards and board games, working crossword puzzles, and following the Cleveland Browns, Cavaliers, and Indians, as well as the Ohio State Buckeyes, in her spare time. She also loved to travel with her family and was a member of AARP. In her younger years, she had worked for a time at Goshen Claypipe Co. and Rueger Equipment.
On November 21, 1946, Lois married Oscar Phillip Beaber with whom she enjoyed fifty-one years of marriage until his passing on November 22, 1997. They are survived by a son, Phillip Lee Beaber and his wife, Janet, of Medford, Ore.; two grandchildren, Julie Perry and her husband, Kirk, of Gilroy, Ca. and Matthew Beaber of Medford, Ore.; a step granddaughter, Michelle Bernard and her husband, Ryan, of Roseburd, Ore.; and two great grandchildren, Trenton and Megan.
Lois is also survived by her brother, Larry Kilpatrick and his wife, Patricia, of New Philadelphia; a number of nieces and nephews, including dear nieces and nephews, Sherry Bichsel of New Philadelphia, Todd Kilpatrick of Wadsworth, Greg Kilpatrick of North Carolina, and Jody Kilpatrick of New Philadelphia; several great nieces and great nephews; and her beloved canine companion, Izzie. In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by an infant brother.
Services for Lois, officiated by Rev. Mark Unrue, will be held at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday, December 4, in Uhrichsville 1st Presbyterian Church. Interment will follow in Uhrichsville’s Union Cemetery beside her beloved husband. Family and friends are invited to call at the church from 11:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. on Saturday. Those wishing to honor her memory by a charitable contribution are encouraged to do so to the Uhrichsville 1st Presbyterian Church.
