Linwood Lewis "Lew" Moneymaker, Sr.

Linwood Lewis “Lew” Moneymaker, Sr., 75, of Uhrichsville, passed away peacefully on Thursday, May 7, 2015, at his home. Born November 19, 1939 in Petersburg, Virginia, he was a son of the late Joseph Alexander and Lena (Rivers) Moneymaker.

On July 24, 1995, Lew married the former Mariann Peters with whom he was looking forward to celebrating their 20th anniversary this summer, after being in a loving relationship for 30 years. For Mariann, Lew was her hero, her knight in shining armor, and the love of her life forever and ever. Every night, she was sure to tell him that he was the best of everything. He is also survived by children, Linwood Moneymaker, Jr. and Angela Moneymaker of Virginia, Richard (Amy) Rice, Jr. of Bowerston, Ryan (Karie) Rice of New Philadelphia, and Rhonda (Bruce) Fisher of Uhrichsville; grandchildren, Garett, Gabrielle, Evan, Kylie, Kacie, Koulton, Madison, Eryka, Jaxson, Christopher, and Linwood; brothers, Bailey Moneymaker, Joseph Moneymaker, Jr., Thomas Moneymaker, Roy Moneymaker, and Franklin Moneymaker; and many nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a son, William Scott Moneymaker; brother, Clarence; and sisters, Virginia and Sue.

A resident of the Uhrichsville area for over 30 years, Lew worked as a machinist for local manufacturing companies. In his spare time, he enjoyed fishing and his dogs. Above all else, he loved being with his family and will be remembered as a devoted husband, father, and grandfather.

Services for Lew, officiated by Pastor Doug Mallernee, will be held at 11am on Tuesday, May 12, in the R.K. Lindsey Funeral Home in Dennison. Interment will follow in Calvary Cemetery in New Philadelphia. Visitation will be 5-8pm on Monday in the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Diabetes Association.
