Linnie Alice Dunlap

Linnie Alice Dunlap, 68, of Uhrichsville, passed away at Union Hospital in Dover on Monday, June 2, 2014, after a brief illness. Born June 22, 1945 in Massillon, she was a daughter of Erma B. (McMullen) Dunlap of Uhrichsville and the late Richard Price Dunlap.

Linnie was a lifelong resident of the area and a 1964 graduate of Tuscarawas-Warwick High School. She enjoyed volunteering at Union Hospital for over a decade and will be remembered for her nearly 50 years as a poll worker for the board of elections. Linnie was a devoted pet owner who dearly loved her cats, and she enjoyed doing needlepoint and researching genealogy in her spare time. She was a member of the Gnadenhutten Church of Christ.

In addition to her mother, Linnie is survived by 2 brothers, Ray (Susan) Dunlap of Zanesville and Vernon (Susan) Dunlap of New Philadelphia; 6 nieces and nephews, Andrew (Heather) Dunlap and Megan (companion, Tyler) Dunlap of Zanesville, Amanda (companion, Josh) Dunlap of Athens, Jason (companion, Olivia) Broome of Uhrichsville, Robert (Sarah) Broome of Huber, North Carolina, and Andrew Broome of Texas; 10 great-nieces and great-nephews; and an aunt, Betty McMullen; as well as many cousins.

Services for Linnie, officiated by Minister Robert Main, will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, June 6, in the R.K. Lindsey Funeral Home in Dennison. Interment will follow in West Union Cemetery near Gilmore. Family and friends are invited to call at the funeral home from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Thursday.
