Linn David Marlatt, 68, of Dover, formerly of Uhrichsville, passed away peacefully at his home on Sunday, March 25, 2012 following a courageous 10 year battle with cancer. Born June 25, 1943 at Wooster, he was a son of the late Charles Andrew Marlatt and Margaret (Postel) Marlatt Greer of Uhrichsville.

A life resident of our area, Linn attended Conotton Valley High School. Following high school, Linn went on to serve his country in the U.S. Army. Linn was a former member of the Uhrichsville Eagles. Linn enjoyed woodworking, building train tables and models, and watching the Cleveland Indians. Linn’s greatest joy came from spending time with his family and friends.

On August 8, 1962, Linn married Hilda M. (Gastia) who survives him at their home. In addition to his mother, Linn’s surviving family includes daughters, Margaret and fiancé Mike Ryan of Florida, Lisa and husband David Boles of Tappan Lake, Judy and husband Steve Loibl of Dover, and Vicky and husband Marc Holly of Maryland; nine grandchildren; twelve great grandchildren; and many step-grandchildren.

In addition to his father, Linn was preceded in death by his step-father, Thomas Greer; a daughter, Lynn Diane Sanner; a granddaughter, Brandy Boles Vosick; and a great grandson, Greydon Boles.

Funeral services for Linn, officiated by Chaplain Pam Przybylski, will be held at 1:00 pm on Wednesday March 28, 2012 at the R. K. Lindsey Funeral Home in Dennison. Interment will follow in Uhrichsville’s Union Cemetery where a military committal will be held. Family and friends are invited to call at the funeral home from 5-8pm on Tuesday March 27, 2012.
