Linda Lauer Hathorn, 70, of Dennison, passed away on Sunday, June 11, 2017, at the Community Hospice Truman House in New Philadelphia. Born October 19, 1946 in Dennison, she was the daughter of the late John Raymond and Almeda Mae (Penrod) Lauer.
  
  
  A resident of Dennison for most of her life, Linda was a 1964 graduate of Dennison High School. On November 2, 1969, she married Robert F. Hathorn and began her life as a loving wife and homemaker. She is survived by her husband, Bob; brothers- and sisters-in-law, Richard and Penny Hathorn, William and Brenda Hathorn, Eva Geddes, and Alice Hathorn; numerous nieces and nephews; and a longtime dear friend, Barb Septer. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by brothers-in-law, Lyle and David Hathorn and Wesley Geddes.
  
  
  Linda was a devoted member of the Salvation Army in New Philadelphia where she was active in the Ladies’ Home League. She had also been a member of the former Dennison American Legion Auxiliary Post #491 until its closing.
  
  
  Lt. Andrew Allen will officiate a 1pm service on Friday, June 16, in the sanctuary of the Dover/New Philadelphia Salvation Army where visitation will be 11am-1pm on Friday. Interment will be in Uhrichsville’s Union Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to the Dover/New Philadelphia Salvation Army and the Tuscarawas County Humane Society.
