Linda Kay Famal, 78, of Dennison, passed away at her daughter’s home in Uhrichsville on Tuesday, September 6, 2022, at her home, after a period of declining health. Born December 31, 1943 in Newport neighborhood of Uhrichsville, she was a daughter of the late William Franklin and Ruth Ellen (Murray) Orr. Linda was a lifelong area resident who will be remembered by many from Palmer’s Root Beer Stand in Uhrichsville where she had been a cook for nearly 20 years.
On November 5, 1961, Linda married John G. Famal with whom she enjoyed 49 years of marriage until his passing on November 11, 2010. They are survived by their son, William Gus (Tammy) Famal; daughters, Despo (Dean) McMath and Amy Slutz; grandchildren, Jarrid Famal, Devon (Autumn) Famal, Alexis (Kurt) Manin, Andrew (Hillary) McMath, Zoie Slutz, Zane Slutz, Adriona Famal, Juliona Famal, and Jaxson Famal; and great-grandchildren, Knox, Nora, Noah, and Quinn. Linda is also survived by her brothers, Chester (Barb) Orr and Edward (Cheryl) Orr; brothers-in-law, Samuel Kopp and Ben Haney; and numerous nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her sisters, Janice (Ben) Keith, Patricia “Teresa” (Bud) Jones, Shirley Kopp, and Helen Haney; brother, Joseph (Shirley) Orr; and brother-in-law, Harry (Joanne) Famal.
Services, officiated by Pastor John Stevenson, will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Friday, September 9, at the R. K. Lindsey Funeral Home in Dennison. Interment will follow in Uhrichsville’s Union Cemetery. Visitation will be 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. on Friday at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to the charity of the donor’s choice.
