Linda Lou Diane Barr

Linda Lou Diane Barr, 73, of Uhrichsville, passed away at her home while surrounded by her loving family on Tuesday, September 27, 2016. Born August 24, 1943, she was a daughter of Thelma Ruth (Warner) Howard-Johnson and the late Harold Howard.

On November 7, 1960, Linda married Kenneth Eugene Barr with whom she enjoyed nearly 52 years of marriage until his passing on September 7, 2012. She was a devoted and loving wife, mother, grandmother and homemaker who will be deeply missed by her surviving family which includes her mother, Thelma; sons: Rex (Jody) Barr, Rick Barr and Joey (Tammy) Barr; grandchildren, Kirt, Ashley, Katie, Shannon, Tommie and Max; great-grandchildren, Zayden, Carter, Kadence, Scotty, Elliott, Micah, Natalee and Corbin; siblings, Carol “Sis” (Dale) Matthews, Lela (Richard) Hill, J.R. (Chris) Howard and Joyce Flowers; a large extended family including many half-siblings, nieces and nephews; longtime dear friends, Virginia Lance Angel and Karen Medley; and her beloved canine companions, Tippy and Pepper. In addition to her father and husband, she was preceded in death by a son, Timmy Barr; brother, Richie Howard; and most recently, her precious dog, Troubles.

Linda has been a longtime member of First Baptist Church in New Philadelphia where she was active in the Joy Group, the churches ministry to 5 year olds, and the visitation committee. She had also been a member of the Friendly C.B. Club.

Services for Linda, officiated by Pastor Matt Braucher, will be held at 11am on Friday in the Next Gen Center at the rear of New Philadelphia First Baptist Church. Interment will follow in Ridgecrest Memory Garden at Dover. Visitation will be 4-7pm on Thursday in the Next Gen Center. Memorial contributions may be made to New Philadelphia First Baptist Church Missions and Community Hospice.
