Lillian Rothenstine

Lillian A. Rothenstine, 77, of Uhrichsville, Ohio, passed away on Friday, July 1, 2011 at Trinity Hospital Twin City in Dennison, Ohio after a lengthy illness. Born October 20, 1933 in Detroit, Michigan, she was a daughter of the late Herbert Alvin and Vera Mathilda (Williams) Young.

On June 15, 1960, she married Ervin Rothenstine with whom she had four children. He preceded her in death on August 14, 1971. Lillian dedicated her life to her family and was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She will be sadly missed by her son, Ervin Rothenstine, Jr. with whom she had resided; her three daughters, Allison (Ronald) Lillie of Tippecanoe, Penny (Mick) Coen of Dennison, and Becky (Tim) Coen of Uhrichsville; seven grandchildren, Chasity (Chris), George (Hope), Dezerrae (T.J.), Timmy (Jamie), Todd (Amber), Rose, and Michael; thirteen great-grandchildren, Chale, Santana, Breanna, Katlyn, Jarman, Josslynn, Jerzee, Boo, Masen, Chloey, Jalee, Hadley, and Maylynn; and numerous nieces and nephews. The last of her family’s generation, she was preceded in death by a brother, David Young, and two sisters, Verna Kelley and Eunice Zadoorian.

In addition to caring for her family, Lillian had also worked as a home health aide and was an Avon Sales Representative for many years. In her spare time, she loved knitting and reading. She was a member of the New Philadelphia Church of Christ.

Services for Lillian, officiated by Minister Tim Hatfield, will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, July 6, in the R.K. Lindsey Funeral Home at Dennison. Interment will follow beside her beloved husband in Uhrichsville’s Union Cemetery. Family and friends are invited to call at the funeral home from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Those wishing to honor Lillian’s memory by a charitable contribution are encouraged to do so to the American Diabetes Association and the American Red Cross.
