Lester D. White, 88, of Tippecanoe, O., passed away near Freeport, O. at the home of his niece on October 10, 2010. He was born on March 21, 1922 in Franklin Twp., Harrison Co., O., a son of the late Earl Merritt and Birdie Norwood (Hines) White.
Lester was a lifelong resident of the Tippecanoe area who worked his family farm throughout his life, as well as helping on the farms of Alvin Sproul and John Poulson. He was a member of the Harrison County Coon Hunters and loved hunting in his younger years.
He was preceded in death by two brothers, Donald L. and Lewis H. White, and a sister, Helen Miller, in addition to his parents. He is survived by a sister-in-law, Katherine White of Tippecanoe, and a number of nieces and nephews, including four special nieces, Leslie Bardall and her husband, Jay, of Freeport with whom he had resided, Lisa Knotts and her husband, Chuck, of Uhrichsville, Deanna Pulley and her husband, Chuck, of Dennison, and Virginia Jackson and her husband, Jim, of Tippecanoe; a special nephew, Dean White and his wife, Jackie, of Tippecanoe; and dear friends, Benny and Lynette Dauch and their sons of Tippecanoe.
Services for Lester, officiated by Pastor Milo Baker, will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Tuesday, October 12, in the R.K. Lindsey Funeral Home at Dennison. Interment will follow in Deersville-Patterson Union Cemetery at Deersville.
Family and friends are invited to call at the funeral home from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Those wishing to honor Lester’s memory by a charitable contribution are encouraged to do so to the charity of their choice.
