Lee A. Baumberger, 62, of Dover, O., left this life after a hard fought battle with cancer on Wednesday, August 12, 2009 while surrounded by his loving family and friends in his home.
Born July 19, 1947 in Dover, he was a son of Ann (Reggatti) Baumberger of Uhrichsville and the late Charles Robert Baumberger.
In 1965, Lee was a member of the last graduating class from Uhrichsville High School before going on to serve his country in the Air Force during the Vietnam War. While stationed in Vietnam, Lee served in Phan Rang, loading bombs into planes. He later furthered his education by obtaining his Associate of Arts degree from Kent State University in 1984.
Lee was a resident of Tuscarawas County for nearly his entire life. He joined his father as co-owner and operator of Baumbergers’ Flooring, a business his father had started in 1952. Lee loved boating, riding motorcycles and classic cars.
His surviving family includes his mother; his daughter, Amy Baumberger of Cleveland; a sister, Mrs. William (Cheryl) Stallings of Dover; his special friend and companion, Tami Jackson of Gnadenhutten; several nieces and nephews; and a host of dear friends.
In addition to his father, he was preceded in death by a brother, Lane C. Baumberger, and a sister, Judy Gay Birch.
According to Lee’s wishes, he has been cremated without a public visitation or service. Those wishing to honor his memory by a charitable contribution are encouraged to do so to Hospice of Tuscarawas County, in lieu of flowers.
