Larry L. Patterson

Larry L. Patterson, 72, of Dennison, O., passed away on Wednesday, August 19, 2009 at Schoenbrunn Healthcare in New Philadelphia, O., following a lengthy illness.

Born January 29, 1937 in the same home which he has lived in for many years in Dennison, he was a son of the late William Martin and Linnie Lavina (Abbuhl) Patterson.

Larry was a longtime employee of Spring Industries where he had been a dredge operator. Following the closing of Spring Industries, he worked for 416 Sand and Gravel until his retirement. Larry was an avid outdoorsman who loved walking in the woods, fishing and hunting. He was a member of the National Rifle Association.

On February 28, 1990, he married the former Betty L. Napier who survives him. His other surviving family includes three sisters, Mrs. William (Shirley) Bonanno of Bowerston, Mrs. Melvin (Theresa “Terri”) Peters of Dennison and Mrs. Don (Sybil) Wilbargar of Florida; a brother, Richard A. Patterson and his wife, Delores, of Tappan; four stepchildren, Mrs. Dan (Lora) McMillen of Uhrichsville, Kim Marshall-McClean and her husband, Frank McClean, of Takoma Park, Md., Mrs. Steve (Leslie) Haton of Swanton, O., and Eric Marshall of Canton; eight step grandchildren, Jimmy, Gretta, Danelle, Brook, Samuel, Emily, Torie and Catherine; and numerous nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Ronald K. “Ronnie” Patterson, Sr. and two sisters, Daral Marie Bryant and Margaret “Peg” Lindsay.

Services for Larry, officiated by Pastor Scot Caley, will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, August 22, in the R.K. Lindsey Funeral Home at Dennison. Interment will follow in Uhrichsville’s Union Cemetery.

Family and friends are invited to call at the funeral home from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Those wishing to honor Larry’s memory by a charitable contribution are encouraged to do so to the Alzheimer’s Association.
