Larry W. Mathias

Larry Wayne Mathias, of Uhrichsville, passed away at his home on his 83 ^rd birthday, December 10, 2022. Born December 10, 1939 in Uhrichsville, he was the son of the late Ralph Raymond and Dorothy Eileen (Cecil) Mathias.

After his 1957 graduation from Uhrichsville High School, Larry proudly served his country in the U. S. Army from 1957 to 1963. A lifelong area resident with the exception of his years in the military, he returned home to a long career as a truck driver. For many years, he was a passionate racing fan who loved going to Midvale Speedway.

Larry will be deeply missed by his surviving family which includes his daughters, Carole Parrish, Diane Mehok, and Rebecca (Roy) Caldwell; grandchildren, Brittany, Rachel, April, Seth, Ryan, Samantha, and Emily; great-grandchildren, Anthony, Maci, Aaron, Aiden, Madeliene, Alex, Lydia, Penelope, Everly, Elaina, Easton, and Sophia; sister, Beverly Deems; and a number of nieces and nephews.

According to Larry’s wishes, cremation is planned without a public service. His family will celebrate his life privately. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Community Hospice, 716 Commercial Ave. S.W., New Philadelphia, OH  44663.
