Larry L. Doughty

Larry L. Doughty, 71, of Dennison, O., formerly of Marion, O., passed away on Wednesday, May 19, 2010 at the home of his brother, Furber, with whom he had resided.

Born August 11, 1938 in Martins Ferry, O., he was a son of the late George Henry and Ruth Winona (Schwender) Doughty.

Larry was a resident of the Marion area for many years, having worked at Marion Steel. He was also a member of the Marion Eagles.

His surviving family includes two sons, Larry Alan (Tana) Doughty and Michael (Christy) Doughty of Marion; three daughters, Karen Sue Jones, Barbara (Eddie) Large, Renee (Shawn) Haberman of Marion; eight grandchildren, Angela, Eddie, Eric, Bubby, Briana, Cory, Brandon, and Skyler; and Laura Doughty of Marion.

He is also survived by two sisters, Judy (David) Garabrandt of Uhrichsville and Diane Antonacci of Toledo; a brother, Furber (Amber) Doughty of Dennison; special friends, Rick, Marlene and BooBoo; a valued caregiver, Shannan Cavanaugh; and numerous nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, Larry was preceded in death by two brothers, George E. and L. Gene Doughty.

Services for Larry, officiated by Pastor Florence McNutt, will be held at noon on Saturday in the R.K. Lindsey Funeral Home. Interment will follow in Uhrichsville’s Union Cemetery.

Family and friends are invited to call at the funeral home on Saturday from 10:00 a.m. until noon. Those wishing to honor Larry’s memory by a charitable contribution are encouraged to do so to Hospice of Tuscarawas County whose exceptional care for Larry is deeply appreciated by his family.
