Lana J. McQuaid, 71, of the Tappan Lake area, passed away on Monday, April 16, 2012 at Beacon Pointe Rehabilitation Center in Uhrichsville, Ohio, after a recent stroke. Born June 12, 1940 in Wheeling, W. Va., she was a daughter of the late Andrew and Ann (Ksiazek) Padolsky.

Lana had lived near Tappan since 1999 having previously lived in Michigan for much of her life after graduating from Roseville High School there. She grew up in the Smithfield, Ohio area and attended Smithfield High School prior to her move to Michigan with her family. Lana was a secretary to the president of sales at Soss Manufacturing for many years before obtaining her Real Estate license. She was an active real estate agent for several years before her declining health prevented her from working further. In her younger years, she loved boating. She was Catholic by faith.

On November 25, 1961, she married Ralph O. McQuaid with whom she celebrated fifty years of loving marriage this past fall. In addition to her husband, she is survived by a son, David B. McQuaid; a grandson, David B. McQuaid, Jr.; stepchildren, Debbie McQuaid and Richard McQuaid; siblings, Rita Breslen, Anson Padolsky, Marlon Padolsky, and Tina Titus; her goddaughter, Agnes Worrell; and numerous nieces and nephews. Lana will also be sadly missed by her beloved dogs, Annie and Rocky. Her family wishes to extend special thanks to their dear friends, Marty and Angel Hupp and Mike and Kathy Barrett, for their constant support.

Services for Lana, officiated by Father Anthony Lonzo, will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, April 19, in the R.K. Lindsey Funeral Home in Dennison. Interment will follow in Gnadenhutten-Clay Union Cemetery. Family and friends are invited to call at the funeral home from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Wednesday, April 18. Those wishing to honor her memory by a charitable contribution are encouraged to do so to the charity of their choice.
