L. Jane Trimmer

March 9, 1927 — July 17, 2021

Lois Jane Trimmer, 94, of Dennison, passed away on Saturday, July 17, 2021, at Claymont Health and Rehabilitation in Uhrichsville. Born March 9, 1927 in Dennison, she was the last surviving child of the late Paul Eldred and Florence Barbara (Case) Trimmer, having been preceded in death by her siblings, Barbara Richardson, Maxine West, and Mary Lou McCluskey, and Donald “Moe”, Paul, Bob, Jack, Wilber “Bo”, and Charles “Siki” Trimmer. She is survived by her sister-in-law, Virginia Trimmer, and many nieces and nephews who loved her dearly, including her namesake, Jayne Clantz, and Ruth Ann Pittis with whom she was especially close.

Jane was a 1944 graduate of Dennison High School before attending The Ohio State University. A survivor of two pandemics, she worked hard all of her life despite her disability from polio and was employed by Tuscarawas County Probate Court, serving as the Chief Deputy Clerk for many judges, before retiring after 60 years. She was very active in her community as a member of the Business and Professional Women, the Tuscarawas County Democrat Women, and in various capacities with the Democrat Party. She was a member of the former Grant Street United Methodist Church in Dennison where she had served as the choir director and a Sunday School teacher for many years. She was also a member of the Junior Sorosis Club.

Jane’s family will cherish many special memories of their times together, as she was always supportive of the endeavors of all her nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews. She will be remembered as that special aunt who loved to lavish a good time on them whether it was outings for ice cream after family gatherings, shopping trips to Columbus or the Smart Shoppe in Dennison, and even vacations together.

Her nephew, Lay Pastor Denny Trimmer, will officiate her funeral at 1:00 p.m. on Wednesday, July 21, in the R. K. Lindsey Funeral Home in Dennison. Interment will follow in Uhrichsville’s Union Cemetery. Family and friends are invited to call at the funeral home from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. on Wednesday. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Community Hospice, 716 Commercial Ave. S.W., New Philadelphia, OH  44663.
