Kimberly Michelle Bente, of Scio, Ohio, passed away in her home at the age of 66 on Saturday, February 22, 2025, after a brief illness. Born September 27, 1958 in Wheeling, West Virginia, she was a daughter of Janet L. (Johnston) Bente with whom she had resided and the late Delvert Eugene “Deb” Bente.

Lovingly known as “Kim Mickey” by many, she will be remembered for her sunny and outgoing nature. She lived life to the fullest and found great joy in helping around her family farm, going for long walks, planting flowers with her mother, and mowing yards for neighbors and friends. Kim absolutely loved the colors pink and lavender, delighted in her extensive collection of unicorns and stuffed animals, was a huge fan of all the Looney Tunes characters, and enjoyed watching Wheel of Fortune and Jeopardy every night. She had attended Conotton United Methodist Church until its closing.

Kim will be deeply missed by her mother, Janet; sister, Tammy Shuttlesworth; brother, Sam Bente; nieces and nephews, Caryn (William Bechiom) Allen, Taryn (husband, Benjamin Scott) Shuttlesworth, Christopher B. (Sarah) Bente, Trista N. (Michael) Hunt, Brodie Bente, and Sammi Bente; great-nieces and great-nephews, Kaleb, Isla, Artair, Keir, Elizabeth, Kaylee, Kalara, and Sophie; aunts and uncles, Patsy Fucello, Harry and Shelley Johnston, and Bill Bente; many cousins and friends, including her dear friend, Brenda Hoy, who was like a sister; and her feline companion, Maggie the Cat. In addition to her father, Kim was preceded in death by a brother, Christopher E. Bente, and brother-in-law, Rick Shuttlesworth.

Rev. Daniel Betts will officiate an 11:00 a.m. funeral on Wednesday, February 26, at the R. K. Lindsey Funeral Home in Dennison. Visitation will be from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday at the funeral home. She will be interred in Beaver Valley Cemetery near her home.
