Kenneth D. Mcgill

Kenneth D. McGill, 80, of Bowerston, passed away at his home following a lengthy illness on Saturday, September 7, 2013. Born November 27, 1932 at Dennison, he was a son of the late Delmer L. and Opal M. (Colvin) McGill.

Kenny was a 1950 graduate of Dennison High School and then went on to serve his country during the Korean Conflict in the U.S. Army. Kenny had been a member of the Pleasant Valley U.M.C., the Bowerston and Scio American Legions, the Leesville Masonic Lodge, and had always been an active supporter of all Conotton Valley athletics. Kenny was a devoted husband, father, and grandfather. He had been a fabricator at several factories over the years and also always worked the family farm. In his spare time, Kenny loved to cut firewood to keep the family fires burning.

On June 9, 1957, Kenny married Margaret Ruth (Wyant) who survives him at their home. Also surviving are their children, Beverly K. McGill, Kenneth L. McGill, and Paul E. McGill, all of Bowerston; and grandchildren, Jeffrey, James, Montana, and Autumn. Kenny was preceded in death by his parents.

A funeral service, officiated by Pastor Jeralyn Myers, will be held at 1:00 pm on Thursday September 12, at the R. K. Lindsey Funeral Home in Dennison. Interment will follow at Bowerston Longview Cemetery. Family and friends are invited to call at visitation on Wednesday September 11, from 5:00 pm to 8:00 pm in the funeral home.
