Kathryn Lou Henry, 87, of Dennison, passed away on Wednesday, October 7, 2015, at Union Hospital in Dover after a lengthy battle with Alzheimer’s Disease. Born May 25, 1928 in New Philadelphia, she was a daughter of the late Harold Adrian and Mary Manonia (Sloan) Hostetler.
A lifelong resident of Tuscarawas County, Kathryn was a 1946 graduate of Dennison High School where she had been active in sports, including volleyball, basketball and the Girls’ Athletic Association. She was also a gifted musician who played the violin and baritone harmonica. In addition to being a loving wife, mother, grandmother and homemaker, Kathryn worked for Quimby’s Bakery and Ohio Bell. She was a longtime member of the United Methodist Church.
On September 17, 1950, she married Harry M. “Bud” Henry who survives along with sons, Dwayne “Rusty” (Donna) Henry and Steven (Jill) Henry; daughter-in-law, Mecca; grandchildren, Kirk (Misty) Henry, Kari (Jeremy) Klaserner, Kayla (Zack) Bolitho, Kyle (Kristin) Henry, Gary (Janelle) Henry, Sam (Kristin) Henry, Kaitlyn Henry and Seth McMath; and great-grandchildren, Mitchell, Mallory, Marlena, Naomi, Eva, Rebecca, Anna, Ava, Allie, Sutton and Oliver. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a son, Gary Henry.
A memorial service, officiated by Pastor David Naus, will be held at 1pm on Friday, October 16, 2015, in the R.K. Lindsey Funeral Home in Dennison. Visitation will be for an hour prior to the service. Memorial contributions may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association and Community Hospice.
