Karen Sue Reifenschneider

December 31, 1950 — July 19, 2013

Karen Sue Reifenschneider, 62, of New Philadelphia passed away on Friday, July 19, 2013 following a lengthy illness at Schoenbrunn Healthcare in New Philadelphia. Born December 31, 1950 in Dennison, Ohio she was a daughter of the late Irving Melvin and Evelyn Irene (Anderson) Pullen.

After graduating from Claymont in 1969, she became the Director at Claymont Community Center for 25 years. She was an avid movie buff and enjoyed going to as many movies as possible with her son, Michael. She was a member of Grace United Methodist Church in Uhrichsville.

On April 15, 1972 she married Michael Earl Reifenschneider who survives her. They are also survived by a son, Michael Eugene of the home; father-in-law, Earl Reifenschneider of New Philadelphia; cousins, Brenda Lintz of New Philadelphia, and Mike Anderson of Mineral City; sister-in-law, Kay (Tom) LaPorte of New Albany, O.; and numerous nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents she is preceded in death by her mother-in-law, Jean Reifenschneider.

In keeping with Karen’s wishes cremation has taken place. A gathering for family and friends to celebrate Karen’s life will be held from 12:00 noon until 3:00 pm on Sunday, July 28, 2013 at the Shel-Mar Community Center, 100 Alie Ln. SE, New Philadelphia, OH 44663. Those wishing to honor her memory by a charitable contribution are encouraged to do so to Crossroads Hospice.
