Karen Louise Hill, 83, of New Philadelphia, Ohio, went to be with the Lord on October 26, 2026, following a long and courageous battle with cancer. She was first diagnosed with cancer in 1970, and her early diagnosis and fighting spirit gave her a purpose to give hope to others living with cancer.
Born April 19, 1943 in Dennison, Ohio, she was a daughter of the late Alfonso Joseph "Coonie" and Mary Elizabeth (née Whitting) Palandrani. Karen was a lifelong area resident and a graduate of Dennison High School in the Class of 1961.
On June 9, 1961, Karen married Harold Hill with whom she shared 65 wonderful years of marriage. High school sweethearts, Karen and Harold built a life together rooted in love, commitment, and family.
She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother who dedicated her life to caring for her family. Her home and family were at the heart of everything she did. Karen loved to bake, shop, spend time at the beach, and make special memories with the people she loved.
Karen was a loving mother to Gregory (Shanon) Hill, Sharon (Perry) Pounds, and Timothy (Geneva) Hill. Her family continued to grow through her grandchildren: Christina (Seth) Greegor, Seth (Ainsley) Hoover, Timi Hill, Anna (Zachary) Clark, Samuel (Deana) Hill, Tyler Hill, Joseph Hill, Aiden Hays, and Eliza Hill. She was also a proud great-grandmother to Ellie Miller, Kaileb Carter, Daniel Hoover, Addilynn Greegor, Alivia Greegor, Patrick Hoover, Wyatt Greegor, Hadi Halter and a baby girl due soon. Karen is also survived by her sister, Jo Ann Marzi, plus many nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, Karen was preceded in death by her son, Michael Alan Hill.
