Karen Sue Cerana

Karen Sue Cerana, 65, of Uhrichsville, passed away on Thursday, March 16, 2023, at Amberwood Manor in New Philadelphia, following a lengthy illness. Born November 11, 1957 in Dover, she was a daughter of the late Pio “Pete” Cerana, Jr. and Norma Jean (Charnock) Cerana.

Karen was a lifelong Uhrichsville resident and 1976 graduate of Claymont High School. She had a long career as a nurses’ aide in home health, as well as for several area nursing homes. Karen enjoyed watching movies and listening to music, and she was a devoted pet owner who dearly loved her cats and dogs.

She will be deeply missed by her sister, Donna (Gene) Shepherd, and a large extended family which includes a number of nieces and nephews, several aunts and uncles, and many cousins. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her sister, Shirley Biechler; brother, David Cerana; and an infant brother, Pio “Steve” Cerana.

Pastor Kory Rowland will officiate a 1:00 p.m. funeral on Tuesday, March 21 at the R. K. Lindsey Funeral Home in Dennison where her family will receive callers for two hours, prior to the service. Interment will follow in Uhrichsville’s Union Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Community Hospice.
