Julie A. Kohler, 55, of New Philadelphia, passed away at her home on Monday, August 11, 2014, after an extended illness. Born September 19, 1958 in Dennison, she was a daughter of Norma Jean (Reichman) Pittis and the late William Russell Pittis.
A 1977 graduate of Lakeland High School, Julie was a local resident throughout her life. In addition to being a loving wife, mother, grandmother and homemaker, she had worked for several local ambulance companies, including Smith Ambulance, for 14 years when she was younger. She was a former member of the Uhrichsville Moose and Eagles. Julie loved football and was a devoted fan of the Green Bay Packers.
On May 15, 1999, Julie married Craig E. Kohler who survives her at their home. She is also survived by her mother, Norma (companion, Bob Paden) Pittis of New Philadelphia; children: Liz (companion, Ray) Patterson of Cambridge, Ted Daley of New Philadelphia and Aloni Mahoney of Fairbanks, Alaska; stepchildren: Karla (Phil) Wright and Bryan (companion, Heather) Kohler; grandchildren: Ethan and Taylor Clarkston; stepgrandchildren: Enoch (Samantha) and Sarah (Wright); stepgreat-grandchildren: Aidan and Atlas Wright; siblings: Rusty (companion, Colleen) Pittis, Amy (Matt) Price, Bill (Kelly) Pittis and James “Mouse” Pittis; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Wednesday, August 13, in the R.K. Lindsey Funeral Home in Dennison. No service is planned. In keeping with Julie’s love of animals and concern for their humane treatment, memorial donations may be made to the Tuscarawas County Humane Society, 6895 Dover Zoar Rd. N.E., Dover, OH 44622.
