Julia Marie Porco, 48, of Uhrichsville, passed away on Monday, December 13, 2021, at the Community Hospice Truman House, following a bravely fought battle with cancer. Born June 25, 1973 in Dennison, she was a daughter of the late Ernesto and Janet Marie (Povick) Porco.
Julia was a Twin City resident for most of her life and a 1992 graduate of Claymont High School. She was chef for several area restaurants, including Chef Ernie’s in Uhrichsville, The Dennison Yard, and her own restaurant – The Atwood Dock. She was an avid fan of Derek Jeter and the New York Yankees.
She will be remembered for her deep love for her family which includes her daughter, Vanessa Veigel; sons, Nathan Veigel and Johnny Herron; grandchildren, Rayne and Nikko Herron; siblings, Elisa Wagner, Tina (Ron) Amstutz, Ernie Porco, Mike (Misty) Porco, Peggy (Mike) Hayes, and Kathy Morgan; and numerous nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her sister, Angie Owens.
Services will be held at 4:00 p.m. on Friday, December 17, at the R. K. Lindsey Funeral Home in Dennison. Her family will receive callers for two hours prior to the funeral.
