Julia M. Hildebrand-Fulton

February 14, 1913 — March 5, 2009

Julia M. Hildebrand-Fulton, 96, of Dover, O., formerly of Dennison and Freeport, O., passed away on Thursday, March 5, 2009 at Park Village Health Care Center in Dover, following a period of declining health.

Born February 14, 1913 in Dennison, she was a daughter of the late David Lawrence and Margaret Rose (Cudahy) O’Brien.

Julia spent much of her life in Dennison where she was a graduate of St. Mary’s High School in the class of 1932 and had been a member of Immaculate Conception Church. After high school, she attended St. Anne’s School of Nursing in Columbus, later earning her degree to be a Licensed Practical Nurse.

In addition to being a loving wife, mother, grandmother and homemaker, Julia was an L.P.N. for Twin City Hospital in Dennison and a number of area nursing homes for many years. She retired from the former Valley Manor Nursing Home.

On November 14, 1940, Julia married William G. Hildebrand who preceded her in death on June 23, 1966. They are survived by two daughters, Judy Colding of Plant City, Fla. and Mrs. Dick (Jean Ann) Whitemyer of Dover; a son, William G. Hildebrand, II and his wife, Linda, of Dover; ten grandchildren, Terry Colding, Lorri Leonard, Rheta Lynn Reagan, Jule Ann Wright, David Colding, George Breehl, Jennifer Little, Matt Hildebrand, Carrie Alday and Joe Hildebrand; and thirteen great grandchildren.

Julia is survived by a brother, Larry O’Brien and his wife, Dolly, of North Canton, and many nieces and nephews, as well.

Julia married Donald W. “Bud” Fulton on August 4, 1974 and enjoyed over thirteen years of marriage with him while living in Freeport, until his passing on November 19, 1987. She was also preceded in death by two brothers, Francis “Jerry” and Daniel O’Brien, and three more siblings who died in their youth.

A resident of Dover for nearly twenty years, Julia had most recently been a member of St. Joseph’s Church in Dover. She was an outgoing and vivacious woman who dearly loved the time she spent with her friends, especially in the many card clubs to which she had belonged over the years.

Services for Julia, officiated by Father Martin J. Ralko, will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Monday, March 9, in Immaculate Conception Church at Dennison. Interment will follow in St. Mary’s Cemetery near Dennison.

Family and friends are invited to call at the R.K. Lindsey Funeral Home in Dennison from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. on Sunday with a Christian Wake Service at 6:30 p.m. Those wishing to honor Julia’s memory by a charitable contribution are encouraged to do so to the St. Mary’s Cemetery Fund and the St. Mary’s High School Alumni Association.
