Julia E. Frigley

July 30, 1918 — June 16, 2011

Julia Elizabeth Frigley, 92, of Uhrichsville, Ohio, passed away on Thursday, June 16, 2011 at Twin City Hospital in Dennison, Ohio after a period of declining health. Born July 30, 1918 in Uhrichsville, she was a daughter of the late Ralph Long, Sr. and Emma Gertrude (Walters) Long.

Julia grew up in the Twin City area and was a graduate of Uhrichsville High School in the class of 1936. She then spent most of her adult life as a resident of Canton where she worked first for the Timken Co. followed by a long career as a supervisor at J.C. Penney. She returned to Uhrichsville in the 70’s after the death of her husband, Joe Frigley.

Her surviving family includes many dear nieces and nephews, including a special nephew, Richard Page and his wife, Dorothy, with whom she had resided for many years, as well as four step-daughters and a number of step-grandchildren and step-great-grandchildren. The last of her generation, she was preceded in death by a sister, Evelyn Page, and two brothers, Herbert Long and Ralph “Buddy” Long, Jr.

In keeping with Julia’s wishes, she has been cremated without a public viewing. Interment will be in Gnadenhutten’s Clay-Union Cemetery. A private family service is planned. Those wishing to honor her life by a charitable contribution are encouraged to do so to the Alzheimer’s Association.
