Judith L. Fisher, 94, a lifelong Uhrichsville resident, passed away on Tuesday, January 23, 2024, at Trinity Hospital Twin City in Dennison, after an apparent heart attack. Born November 29, 1929 just two blocks from her current residence, she was the only child of the late Floyd W. and Bernice A. (Martin) Barr.
Judy grew up in Uhrichsville and was a 1947 graduate of Uhrichsville High School. Along with her lifelong love, Dick F. Fisher, to whom she was wed on August 21, 1949, she leaves behind two daughters, Cathie (Jim) Foutz and Cindi (Bob, deceased) Martin; four grandchildren, Brian (Jeri) Foutz, Becka (Kevin) Hicks, Jesse (Kristi) Foutz, and Andy (Molly) Martin; and ten great-grandchildren, Jacob, Brianna and Spencer Foutz, Wesley and Kendal Foutz, Rachel (Myles) Pittman, Paige Hicks, Skylar and Walker Martin, and Ryan Young. She was preceded in death by a great-grandson, Derek Foutz, as well as her parents.
For 25 years, Judy was a school bus driver for Claymont City Schools and also had been a teachers’ aide at Claymont. She was a woman of many interests who enjoyed membership in the Amateur Trap Shooters Association, the Star Promenaders Square Dance Club, and the Business and Professional Women’s Club. She will also be remembered for her dedicated work as a Girl Scout Leader while her daughters were growing up. Judy was a faithful member of Park Christian Church in Dennison where she had taught Sunday School for many years. Most of all, she will be remembered for her love for her husband and family.
According to Judy’s wishes, she has been cremated and will be interred in Uhrichsville’s Union Cemetery. Pastor Dave Bryan will officiate a celebration of life service at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, February 10, 2024 at Park Christian Church where her family will receive callers from 1:30 p.m. to 2:00 p.m., prior to the service. In lieu of flowers, charitable contributions honoring her memory may be made to Park Christian Church, 236 Miller Ave., Dennison, OH 44621.
