Joyce Marie Romacko, 76, of New Philadelphia, O., formerly of Dennison, O., passed away on Wednesday, August 18, 2010 at Amberwood Manor in New Philadelphia after a lengthy battle with Alzheimer’s Disease.
Born May 30, 1934 in Uhrichsville, O., she was a daughter of the late Albert Jason and Pauline Roberta (McBeth) Warner.
Joyce grew up in the Twin City area, but much of her adult life was spent living in various areas of the country, moving whenever her husband, who made his career in the military, was given a new station. In addition to being a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and homemaker, she also worked for Tusco Manufacturing in the 50s and 60s, as well as for Spring Development for many years. Joyce loved caring for her family and was truly devoted to her daughters. She also loved animals, especially her daughter’s little dogs.
On March 5, 1954, Joyce married John Andrew Romacko with whom she enjoyed over thirty-three years of marriage until his passing on December 2, 1988. They are survived by two daughters, Terri S. (Romacko) Deardorff and her husband, Richard, of New Philadelphia and Joni Septer-Romacko of Dover; four grandchildren, Shawnee (Deardorff) Dillon, Kristina Deardorff, John Andrew Deardorff, and Nina (Septer) McBride; and eight great grandchildren, Michael Dillon, Zackary Deardorff Sheeler, Dakota Shaffer, Maddison Deardorff Sheeler, Hailey Deardorff Sheeler, Shawn Dillon, Morrison McBride, and Darian McBride.
Joyce is also survived by a sister, Linda K. (Warner) Fisher and her husband, Gary, of San Antonio, Tx.; a brother, Daniel A. Warner and his wife, Darla, of New Philadelphia; a brother-in-law, Ray Shuss of Dennison; and numerous nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by her sister, Roberta L. Shuss.
Services for Joyce, officiated by Pastor Randy Stull, will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Tuesday, August 24, in the R.K. Lindsey Funeral Home at Dennison. Interment will follow beside her beloved husband in Ridgecrest Memory Garden at Dover.
Family and friends are invited to call at the funeral home from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Monday.
