Joyce Ann Perez, 67, a resident of Dennison since 2009, previously a longtime resident of Chicago, passed away Thursday, February 4, 2016 at Schoenbrunn Healthcare in New Philadelphia, after a period of declining health. Born October 22, 1948 in Oakridge, Tennessee, she was a daughter of the late J.D. and Mary K. (Moore) Nolen.
Joyce is survived by her husband, Ignacio Herrera-Perez of the home; sons, Kenneth Blevins, James R. (fiancée, Daisy) Blevins [and children, Stephanie, Jacqueline, Michael, Devin, Ava and Daisy] and Jose (Mitzi) Perez [and their children, Preston and Madisen]; daughters, Linda (fiancé, Chris Erenberg) Herrera [and children, Katilyn and Annabelle] and Norma (fiancé, Vince Lopez) Perez [and children, Ivette, Joshua and Lauren]; great-grandchildren, Aryanna, Timothy, Carson, Chloe, Brody and Marlie; siblings, Fred (Wilma) Nolen, Norma (Jimmy) Short, Bill Nolen and Dorothy Burdick; and numerous nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by sisters, Amelia and Linda, and brothers, Jim and Eddie.
Joyce was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and homemaker who was a friend to all who knew her. She enjoyed playing cards, especially poker, in her spare time.
Services, officiated by Pastor Scot Caley, will be held at 2pm on Sunday, February 7, 2016, in the R.K. Lindsey Funeral Home in Dennison. Visitation will be for two hours prior to the funeral.
