Joseph Leander Tidrick, 94, of Tippecanoe, passed away peacefully at his home on Friday, April 23, 2021. Born September 27, 1926 at his family’s home near Tippecanoe, he was the last surviving child of the late James Clarence and Mary Belinda (Decker) Tidrick, having been preceded in death by his siblings, Anna Doane, Audessa Gadd, Rachel Sanders, and James “Babe” and Henry Tidrick. He was also preceded in death by his wife, Elsie Ellen (Gordon) Tidrick, and his stepmother, Velma Tidrick.
Joe was a lifelong area resident who was employed by the former Port Washington Belden Brick Plant for 30 ½ years until its closing in the late 80s. He loved fishing and hunting in his spare time. He will be sadly missed by his son, Timothy Tidrick, and a large extended family which includes numerous nieces and nephews, as well as his faithful canine companion, Betty.
Pastor Sandra Cappel will officiate a 1:00 p.m. funeral on Monday, April 26, at the R. K. Lindsey Funeral Home in Dennison. Interment will follow beside his beloved wife in Dover Burial Park in Dover. Visitation will be 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. on Monday at the funeral home. In the interest of public health, all who attend must wear appropriate face coverings and maintain social distancing. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Tuscarawas County Senior Center’s Transportation Division, 425 Prospect St., Dover, OH 44622.
