Joseph R. Grimm

Joseph Roy Grimm, 80, of Dennison, passed away on Sunday, June 13, 2021, at Riverside Manor in Newcomerstown, after a period of declining health. Born November 7, 1940 in Bowerston, he was a son of the late Joseph and Maude (Gibson) Grimm.

After his graduation from Uhrichsville High School in 1959, Joe enlisted in the U.S. Navy with whom he proudly served until retiring after 20 years. He then began his 20 year career with the Army Corps of Engineers. In retirement, Joe loved tending his flower gardens and attending every auction he could get to.

On January 31, 1964, Joe married the former Mary Jane Stewart who survives him. He is also survived by their daughter, Mary Kay Negron; son-in-law, Wesley Lowe; his brother, Ernest Grimm; grandson, Joseph Lowe; and many dear extended family members. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two grandsons, W. Isaac Lowe and Matthew Nichols, as well as an infant sister.

Rev. Matt Doerle will officiate a 1:00 p.m. funeral service on Wednesday, June 16, at the R. K. Lindsey Funeral Home in Dennison. Interment will follow with a military committal service in Uhrichsville’s Union Cemetery. Visitation will be 12:00 p.m. to 1:00 p.m. on Wednesday at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the donor’s local Humane Society or their favorite charity for the benefit of veterans.
