Joleigh Graceann Tess Mathews

Joleigh Graceann Tess Mathews, beautiful infant daughter of Brian and Kassey (West) Mathews and birthmother, Francis Tate, was called from the arms of her earthly parents to the embrace of her heavenly Father on Friday, August 26, 2016, at Nationwide Children’s Hospital in Columbus. She was born August 20, 2016 at Ohio State University Medical Center, also in Columbus.

Joleigh is survived by a large, loving family which includes her sister, Jasey Mathews; grandparents, Barbara (Ted Doll) West, and Mark and Nancy Mathews; great-grandmother, Norma Martin; aunts, Brandy Mathews and Shannon (Zach) Haver; cousins, Kaleigh West and Finnegan Haver; great-aunts and great-uncles, Irma, Jo Ann, Maurice (Kelly), Dan (Gundel), Molly, Steve (Dana), Tom (Judy), Sally, Sandy (Dave), Tim (Kim), Terry (Kim), Tony (Angie), Roger (Sue), John (Deb), Kelly, Betty, Tam and Shirley; and dear friends and family who were wonderfully supportive during Joleigh’s brief time in this life, Heidi, Tawnya, Mae and Mike, Dani, Kady, Cody, Molly Ann, Heather, Tess, Justin and Georgina, and Andrea of Caring for Kids.

Her maternal papa, Ron West; uncle, Jason Joseph West; cousin, Joey West; great-grandparents, Tillie and Kenny West, Joe and Doris Ann Dallas, and John and Blanche Grace Mathews; and great-uncles, Rick and Dean, were waiting to greet her at the gates of heaven.

A service celebrating Joleigh’s life, officiated by Rev. Larry Malterer, will be held at 5pm on Thursday, September 1, 2016, in Grace United Methodist Church in Uhrichsville where her family will receive callers for an hour prior to the service. Immediately following the service, a reception will be held in the Grace United Methodist Fellowship Hall. Memorial contributions may be made to Grace United Methodist Church and the Central Ohio Ronald McDonald House Charities. Joleigh’s family wish to extend their deep gratitude to the doctors, nurses and staff of OSU Medical Center and Nationwide Children’s Hospital for their outstanding care and compassion.
