John Vosick, Sr., 85, of Uhrichsville, O., passed away unexpectedly at his home on August 15, 2010.
Born December 8, 1924 in Stillwater, he was the son of the late Bronislaw and Mary (Suidock) Vosick. John attended New Cumberland School and was a U.S. Army Veteran.
After serving his country, John had numerous jobs through out his life including working in the clay mines with his father, spending many years as a furnace installer, and most recently as a self-employed construction worker. John was a hard worker but also enjoyed working in his garden, cooking, and sharing food with his family and friends. He was a member of the Uhrichsville Eagles.
John is survived by his longtime companion, Ellen M. Brown of the home; daughter, Debby and her husband, Terry Bob Wright of Uhrichsville; two sons, John Vosick Jr., and his wife, Jackie of Dennison and John Vosick III, and his companion Nikki of Uhrichsville; daughter-in-law, Karol L. Vosick of Tippecanoe; eleven grandchildren, Tina Richardson of Manitoba, Canada, Kelly Downin of Uhrichsville, Marcia (Jim) Shamel of Dennison, Eric (Wina) Hathaway of Fayetteville, NC, Johnna Lee (Randy) Milburn of Uhrichsville, Travis (Leslie) Wright of Downingtown, PA, Taylor (Danielle) Wright of Uhrichsville, Julie Vosick of Canton, Justin Vosick of Tippecanoe, and Cyler and Keaton Wright of Uhrichsville; a brother, Brownie Vosick of Uhrichsville;14 great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by a son, David Vosick; a great grandchild; five brothers, Stanley, Joe, William, Charles, Mike; and three sisters, Viola, Virginia and Josephine.
Services for John, officiated by Pastor Larry Fletcher, will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Thursday, August 19, in the R.K. Lindsey Funeral Home at Dennison. Interment will follow in Union Cemetery at Uhrichsville.
Family and friends are invited to call at the funeral home from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. on Thursday, August 19, 2010, where the Uhrichsville Eagles will conduct a memorial service at 12:30 p.m. Those wishing to honor John’s memory by a charitable contribution are encouraged to do so to a charity of one’s choice.
