John E. Villwock, 55, of Uhrichsville, passed away peacefully at his home while surrounded by his family on Wednesday, May 26, 2010. Born July 4, 1954, he was a son of Arthur E. Villwock of New Philadelphia and the late Mary Katherine (Smith) Villwock.
A life resident of our area, John attended New Philadelphia High School and was a member of St. John’s Worship and Praise Community Church at Uhrichsville. John was a roofer by trade, but he was able to do virtually anything when it came to carpentry and construction. He loved camping and was an avid sports fan, especially the Cleveland Cavaliers and Browns and The Ohio State Buckeyes. John’s greatest joy in life was spending time with his family and friends.
On May 7, 2005, John married Virgie M. Walker who survives them at their home. John’s other surviving family include five daughters, Danes and husband David Lillie of Uhrichsville, Donna and husband Tom Leonard of Newcomerstown, Debora and husband Dean Kaneko of Las Vegas, NV, Darlene Asuncion of Georgia, and Diane Beatty of Uhrichsville; three sons, Michael Simpson and companion Michelle Rush of Zanesville, Steve Simpson and companion Amy Pace of New Philadelphia, and Ryan and wife Helen Simpson of Zanesville; four sisters, Bonnie Jones and companion Don Anslow of Uhrichsville, Cynthia and husband Mark Cook of Milford, OH, Norma Wilson of Dennison, and Pattie Ann Parks of Uhrichsville; two brothers, Kenneth and wife Marie Villwock of Uhrichsville and Leroy Striker of Dennison; 32 grandchildren; 4 great grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
In addition to his mother, John was preceded in death by his wife Patty (Dyson) Villwock who passed away January 22, 1992.
Services for John, officiated by Rev. Archie Jackson, will be held Sunday, May 30, 2010 at 3:30 pm in the St. John’s Worship and Praise Community Church at 302 W. 11th St., Uhrichsville. Family and friends are invited to call at visitation for John on Sunday May 30, 2010 from 2:30 pm until 3:30 pm. In keeping with his wishes, John will be cremated following his services.
Those wishing to honor John’s memory with a memorial donation are encouraged to do so to his family to help defray his final expenses.
