John M. “Mickey” Salsberry, 56, of New Philadelphia, passed away March 4, 2016 at Oak Point Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Baltic following a lengthy illness. Born November 5, 1959 in Dennison, he was a son of the late John William and Shirley Jean (Starkey) Salsberry.
A life resident of the area, Mickey attended Lakeland High School. He had been employed at the former Tusco Grocers. Mickey enjoyed fishing and camping, both NASCAR and Midvale racing, and was diehard Pittsburgh Steelers fan.
Mickey’s surviving family includes children, Cody (Bethany) Salsberry, Amanda Salsberry, Blaine Salsberry, Janet Salsberry, and Cory Salsberry; grandchildren, Claymond, David, Timothy, Jr., and Aubrey; siblings, Tracy Salsberry, Dale Salsberry, Sara (Robert) Sisley, Caralotta Gibson, Della (Tom) Coverdale, Ginger Salsberry, and Jodie (John) Morris; and numerous nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, Mickey was preceded in death by his sister Connie Salsberry.
Mickey will be cremated with a family memorial service to be held at a later date.
