John W. Mcdonald

John William McDonald, 46, of Dennison, passed away on Friday, October 1, 2021, at Trinity Medical Center West in Steubenville of Covid related complications. Born November 7, 1974 in Dennison, he was a son of Roger Leland McDonald and Carol Ann (Wharton) McDonald.

John was a lifelong Twin City resident who had worked as a truck driver, and most recently had been employed by Stepping Stone as a maintenance manager. He loved fishing and playing golf, and was known for his knack for fixing things and building things. He will be remembered for his willingness to help anyone in need. Most of all, he was devoted to his family and treasured the time that he got to spend with his children.

On June 5, 2010, John married Amanda Michelle Taylor McDonald who survives him. In addition to his wife and parents, he is also survived by seven children, Trevor (Jamie) Dykes, Travis (Cassidy) McDonald, Bailey (Taylor) Gavorcik, and Trenton, Hayden, Spencer and Izabella McDonald; a granddaughter, Daisy Gavorcik; brother, Michael (Sarah) McDonald; parents-in-law, Rhonda and Michael Taylor; brother-in-law, Josh (Julie) Taylor; four nieces and nephews, Anthony, Micah, Landon, and Ryder; his former spouse and mother of his three eldest children, Angel Householder; and good friends, George and Jessica. John was preceded in death by his grandparents, Bob and Patty Wharton and Oakley and Lorraine McDonald.

His uncle, Jeff McDonald, will officiate a 4:00 p.m. funeral on Thursday, October 7, at Park Christian Church in Dennison. Visitation will be 1:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. on Thursday at the church. John would want everyone who attends to wear their casual clothes instead of dressing up. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to a fund for his minor children which will be set up at Dover-Phila Federal Credit Union.
