Jo Ann Williams

Jo Ann Williams, 70, of Uhrichsville, Ohio was called home to be with the Lord on Tuesday, August 9, 2011 from her home after a brief illness. Born December 6, 1940 in Uhrichsville, she was a daughter of the late James Ralph “J.R.” and Loretta Marie (Clark) Smith.

A lifelong resident of Uhrichsville, Jo Ann was a graduate of Uhrichsville High School in the class of 1958. The following summer, on August 8, 1959, she married Thomas L. Williams with whom she joyfully spent fifty-one years of blessed marriage. In addition to her husband, she is survived by a son, Randy Williams of Uhrichsville; a daughter, Beth Ann (Mike) Baker of Westchester; three grandchildren; a sister, Kate Warner of Canton; a brother, Donald Smith of Uhrichsville; and a number of nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, a sister, Dorothy “Dodo” Barnabi, and a brother, Kenneth “Shorty” Smith.

Jo Ann was a loving and devoted wife, mother and homemaker who loved caring for her home and working in her flower gardens. Above all else, she was devoted to her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, and worked to the glory of His name and the expansion of His kingdom. Her home became the Chapel of Faith where many souls were brought to the Lord by her sharing of the Gospel. She will be sadly missed not only by her family, but by her many friends who were her sisters and brothers in Christ.

Services for Jo Ann, officiated by Rev. Henry Mooney, will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Friday, August 12, in the R.K. Lindsey Funeral Home at Dennison. Interment will follow in Freeport’s Greenmont Union Cemetery. Family and friends are invited to call at the funeral home from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. on Friday. In lieu of flowers, those wishing to honor Jo Ann’s memory by a charitable contribution are encouraged to do so to Camp Kaphar, 1208 N. Uhrich St., Uhrichsville, OH 44683.
