Jo-Ann Carpenter

Jo-Ann Carpenter, 77, of Uhrichsville, Ohio, passed away on Thursday, Feb. 16, 2012 at Aultman Hospital in Canton, Ohio, after a brief illness. Born Dec. 25, 1934 in York Twp., Tuscarawas Co., Ohio, she was a daughter of the late Jess and Hazel (Eichel) Lovell.

On May 8, 1954, Jo-Ann married William Thomas Carpenter with whom she enjoyed nearly forty-nine years of marriage until his passing on October 11, 2003. They are survived by three daughters, Melba (Doug) Anderson of Strasburg, Mary (Steven) Parrish of Uhrichsville, and Teresa (Ronald) McComb of Midvale; four grandchildren, Jason (Missy) Parrish, Chrissy (Chad) Lynch, Tyler Parrish, and William Anderson; seven great-grandchildren, Abbigail, Kaleb, Ethan, Taylor, Audrey, Connor, and Mason; a sister, Mary Burkey of Uhrichsville; and her dear black lab, Tamika. In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by a granddaughter, Stacey Parrish.

Jo-Ann was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and homemaker who devoted her life to her family and will be deeply missed. She attended the Dennison Church of God.

Services for Jo-Ann, officiated by Pastor Dean Teal, will be held at 1pm on Monday, Feb. 20, in the R.K. Lindsey Funeral Home in Dennison. Interment will follow in Uhrichsville’s Union Cemetery. Visitation will be from 11am to 1pm on Monday in the funeral home. Those wishing to honor Jo-Ann’s memory by a charitable contribution are encouraged to do so to the American Cancer Society.
